After much deliberation, Chabad House has concluded that Camp Gan Israel of Highland Park will be undergoing a number of changes in the future. We are seeking new quarters to house the camp which will allow for enhanced and additional programming. As we have not been able to accomplish the goal of acquiring a new site, we will not operate our camp for Summer 2023.   We will continue our search and look forward to being of service to you and your family in the Summer of 2024. Until a new director is hired, there is no one monitoring or responding to the camp emails. All questions can be forwarded to Chabad House - 732-296-1800 or office@chabadnj.org.

Learning Curriculum 2022:

Campers receive daily shiur lessons from our very own camp Rabbi! This summer, our goal is for campers to understand that in order for the world to exist, Torah, Avodah and Gemilus Chassadim are required. Each day, campers will learn a Torah thought on Torah, Avodah and Gemilus Chassadim. An essential part of the learning program is a constant concern and recognition of our camper's middos.  Take a look at the image below to view the themes that will be covered.

ACA Accreditation

Camp Gan Israel Highland Park is licensed by both the NJ Dept of Health and the ACA Accreditation.

ACA Accreditation means that your child’s camp cares enough to undergo a thorough peer review of its operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management.

American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at your child’s camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes growth and fun in an environment committed to safety. ACA Accreditation is voluntary and ACA accreditation assures families that camps have made the commitment to a safe, nurturing environment for their children. ACA goes beyond basic requirements for health, cleanliness, and food service into specific areas of programming, including camp staff from director through counselors, emergency management plans, health care, and management. ACA applies separate standards for activities such as the pool and trips.
